Abstract: | The case study delves into the narrative of a boutique HR & OD Advisory firm, a small entity comprising just 10 employees, but poised for significant expansion. Merely in its second year since inception, the organization was gearing up for a global account. As the designated consultant of the new client - a global conglomerate with diverse business interests, RuDefine would have to oversee the functions of fifty-odd group companies of this client along with its currently ongoing projects. The primary objectives included establishing effective talent management practices that fostered productivity, carrying out OD interventions, and enabling the leadership to steer clear smoothly through the change management phase of the Group while enhancing its employer brand equity. So far, Major Ravi Khanna, the Founder of RuDefine, has successfully maintained and controlled the value structure of his boutique consulting firm strong and intact, deliberately avoiding rapid expansion to maintain the organization's initial intent—strict adherence to human values, ethics to deliver high-quality intellectual essence. Decentralizing this unique selling proposition (USP) of RuDefine, which was an unwavering dedication to humanism, was never a consideration for Major Khanna. As RuDefine expands globally, spanning diverse national cultures, would Major Khanna be able to sustain his vigilant focus on values, ethics, processes, practices and culture? Amidst exponential growth, could the core value system endure the onslaught of commercial success? Was the virtue model upheld by RuDefine only viable within the confines of a small organization? Conservative growth or rapid expansion, what was a prudent choice? Will scalability come at the cost of dilution of the core values and its purpose? It was the moment of truth and enigma. |
