Abstract: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, plans to establish a new academic block and hostel campus with a capacity to accommodate 1000 boarders on its Joka Campus. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will virtually lay the foundation stone for the facility today, on January 31. The proposed project will be developed as a part of the institute’s plan to transform its 135-acre campus. It envisages the construction of G+9-storey hostels (including 726 rooms with common washrooms and 200 rooms with attached washrooms), a service building, and a sub-station building. The total cost of the project is estimated to be INR 245.88 Crore and will have a built-up area of approximately 32,556 SqM.
