dc.description.abstract | IIM-Calcutta will set up a 3.5 lakh sq ft modern hostel complex with a capacity of nearly 1,000 students to replace the old facilities on its campus in Joka. To be constructed over two years, the five-star rated green building, designed by celebrated architect Hafeez Contractor, will cost Rs 246 crore. IIM-Calcutta officials said the proposed hostel, service building and substation building will be a G+9 storied facility consisting of 726 rooms with common washrooms and 200 rooms with attached washrooms. IIM-Calcutta hostel manager Anil Srivastava acknowledged infrastructure at the other IIMs that have come up later were better than IIM-Calcutta and that the upgrade in the hostel infrastructure was long overdue. | en_US |
