He served as a Professor at SPJIMR (Mumbai) and was the Technical Director of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Dr. Bhattacharya started the Centre for Corporate Governance at IIM Calcutta. He was a regular columnist for Business Standard from 2008 to 2020. He is also on the editorial board of A₹tha.en_US
dc.description.abstractMonitoring boards are ineffective in monitoring the CEO. In the 21st century, monitoring efficiency is abysmal due to the widening information asymmetry between the CEO and the board constituted of independent directors. The monitoring board has lived its life, and it is time to go back to managerial capitalism and the advisory board system.en_US
