Abstract: | The present state of literature dictates that a lot has been presented on organizational performance measurement system but a perspective linking various entities in the supply chain through a holistic framework is explored little. In view of this, the paper proposes a holistic conceptualization on supply chain based performance measurement system. The set of critical questions considered while attempting development of a framework mainly includes: • How a PMS can establish basis for the fair and transparent sharing of information, resources and profit among the supply chain partners? • How a PMS can help to incorporate a knowledge-based perspective between the various supply chain partners and with other supply chain operating in a similar or dissimilar line of business? This paper makes an attempt to furnish a summary of set of issues involved in designing and deploying performance measurement system towards enhancing the overall efficiency of supply chain. |
