Current Cost of Quality Management Practices in India in the Era of Globalization: An Empirical Study of Selected Companies

Abstract

There has been little effort to analyze and assess cost of quality in a systematic manner in the Indian context. This paper is an attempt to empirically evaluate the importance of various Cost of Quality factors pertaining to companies and to measure the current status of Cost of Quality in the public and private sector. The aim is to understand whether corporate India practices Cost of Quality Management in a valuechain analytic framework. A survey of financial executives in India was therefore conducted to gain insights into the extent of use of the Cost of Quality system in managerial decisions for the public and private sector.
