Abstract: In 2011, three analytics industry veterans Krishnan, Derick and Ganesh started an analytics firm Flutura with a vision to build a platform-based analytics solution which can help customers transform to digital. Soon after incorporation, they had to pivot to IoT and machine data-based analytics platform as the consumer data-based analytics market was already overcrowded. Their intelligent IoT transformation platform Cerebra and the innovative pricing model helped them capture market and mindshare in the IoT analytics domain quickly. Investors and analysts across the globe appreciated the potential of Flutura. Also, acquisition of few early customers helped them validate the platform and make it functionally rich. In parallel, they got engaged in few strategic partnerships to penetrate the global market and evolved a joint go-to-market strategy with industry leaders like Hitachi, Siemens, and Bosch. Still, the organization was facing challenges in growing to the next level of value chain due to multiple reasons such as lack of global presence, high data security in IoT domain hampering faster growth, and the high specialization leading to the smaller playing field to expand. The leadership team at Flutura started mulling about venturing into related analytics fields in near future. Flutura needed to solve few high potential business problems that could create the avenue for nonlinear growth in the long term.
