Abstract: The case describes the setting up of a case research center in a business school in 2011. It outlines the market context for the business school, initiatives of its peer group of institutions, and internal developments with the business school in the run up to the decision to set up the case center. It also describes the administrative, decision making, and governance processes proposed for operating the case research center. It describes the conflicts that the proposed processes are expected to have vis-à-vis existing administrative and decision making processes at the business school. Given this, the school needs to choose between various alternatives for administering and governing the case research center.
