Abstract: | CRISIL is a pioneering company which had to conceptualize and grow a business from the start without any precedent to go by, and that too in a relatively underdeveloped financial environment in a developing country like India. CRISIL has attempted to diversify by leveraging its core competencies, and move into new businesses. When the case ends, CRISIL finds itself facing the challenge of operating in an increasingly regulated banking environment even as it explores new market opportunities which are not its traditional strongholds. |
