Abstract: Thirty-five people at Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta and 35 at Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur have tested positive for Covid, prompting stringent curbs on the premises. Following the Covid detectio, IIM-C prohibited students, teachers and non-teaching staff from leaving the Joka campus unless there is a medical emergency. The students, most of them with mild symptoms, have been accommodated in a guesthouse that has been converted into a quarantine centre. All offline activities, including classes, have been suspended. The state government on Monday declared three hostels—Ramanujan, Lake View and New hostel —and Tata Hall, where the infected students are quarantined, as containment zones.
