dc.description.abstract | The rapid internationalization of firms from emerging economies and the consequent phenomenal rise of the "new multinationals" have led to the emergence of a new research frontier in the international business domain (Child and Rodriguez 2005; Luo and Tung 2007; Guillen and Garcia-Canal 2009; Chang and Rhee 2011; Ramamurti 2012). While researchers have debated the need for new theories to explain this phenomenon (Mathews 2006; Narula 2012), there is an increasing realization that traditional internationalization theories are constrained in fully deciphering the uniqueness of the internationalization process of firms from emerging economies (Gaur and Kumar 2010; Cuervo-Cazurra 2012). 2016 Copyright Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. | |
