IIMC institutional repository is a digital service that collects, preserves, and distributes digital material. Repositories are important tools for preserving an organization's legacy; they facilitate digital preservation and scholarly communication. IIMC Digital Library is the latest initiative of B.C. Roy Memorial Library of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. It is an institutional repository (IR) where all scholarly outputs of the institute can be housed. IR is the latest technology in the area of scholarly communication. An IR helps the organization to increase the visibility of its members in the scholarly world. Besides, special documents produced by the institute such as annual reports, can also be housed in an Institutional Repository.
